Overview
This Thailand experience is designed for travelers who want to feel the country, not rush through it. We’ll spend meaningful time in Bangkok and Phuket, moving at a pace that allows room for connection, rest, and real moments.
In Bangkok, days unfold through food, culture, markets, and shared experiences that bring the group together, balanced with free time to explore independently or slow down when needed. From temples and waterways to evening street food, the city reveals itself in layers rather than checklists.
We’ll close in Phuket, where the rhythm softens and the focus shifts toward ease and enjoyment. Beach days, ethical wildlife experiences, shared meals, and open space to unwind allow the trip to settle naturally. Throughout the experience, every element is chosen with care, prioritizing comfort, intention, and presence, so what stays with you isn’t just where you went, but how it felt.
Why This Trip Matters?
At Ember & Co., we design every experience to do more than check off a destination; we create trips that leave a spark.
This Thailand experience is designed to feel layered, thoughtful, and deeply human. It brings together culture, rest, and connection in a way that allows guests to experience the country beyond the surface, from historic temples and life along the waterways to unhurried moments in nature and shared meals that bring people together. Each stop is intentional, balancing guided experiences with space to explore, unwind, and simply be present. The result is a trip that feels grounded and meaningful, creating memories, relationships, and a sense of belonging that stays with you long after you return home.
Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Thailand!
Upon arrival in Bangkok, guests will be met and transferred to the hotel for check-in and time to settle in. In the evening, the group will gather for a welcome dinner at a refined Bangkok dining venue, featuring an international spread with thoughtfully curated options including fine meats, fresh seafood, and a variety of dishes to accommodate different preferences. This relaxed, shared dining experience is designed to set the tone for the week ahead, allowing guests to connect, unwind, and ease into the rhythm of Thailand together.
Day 2: Exploring Bangkok’s Historic Treasures
Begin the day with a visit to Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, one of the most sacred and significant temples in Thailand, located within the Grand Palace complex. Explore the Grand Palace itself, a stunning architectural landmark that once served as the royal residence and reflects the richness of Thai history and craftsmanship. Continue on to Wat Pho, the largest temple in Bangkok and home to the iconic 46-meter-long Reclining Buddha.
Pause for lunch at a local restaurant, where guests can enjoy a relaxed meal before the afternoon activities. Later, take a long-tail boat ride through Bangkok’s canals, often referred to as the “Venice of the East,” offering a glimpse into daily life along the waterways, with views of stilted homes, local markets, and neighborhood temples. Conclude the day with a visit to Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, set along the Chao Phraya River and admired for its striking design and scenic river views.
Day 3: Free Day for Exploration & Evening Street Food Experience
After breakfast at the hotel, spend the morning exploring Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of Bangkok’s most iconic markets. You will have free time to shop, browse, or simply take in the energy of the city. For those who prefer a slower pace, this time can also be used to explore independently or return to the hotel to rest.
In the evening, regroup for a guided tuk-tuk street food experience through Bangkok’s vibrant Chinatown. Travel through the city after dark, stopping at a curated selection of beloved local eateries known for their quality and flavor. The experience includes a mix of classic Thai and Thai-Chinese dishes, with vegetarian and dietary-friendly options available. This lively evening offers a fun, social way to experience Bangkok’s food culture and nighttime energy from a local perspective.
Day 4: Floating Markets & Train Market Day Trip
Depart Bangkok for a full-day excursion into the countryside. Begin with a visit to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, where vendors sell fruits, snacks, and local goods directly from motorized boats along the canals. You’ll have time to walk through the market and take a boat ride to experience this lively and iconic part of Thai culture. Afterward, stop at a nearby fruit farm to learn about locally grown produce and enjoy fresh seasonal tastings. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant, offering a chance to sample regional Thai flavors.
In the afternoon, visit the famous Maeklong Train Market, where vendors set up their stalls directly along an active railway. Watch as the market magically clears when the train passes through, then resumes as if nothing happened — a truly memorable sight. Return to Bangkok in the evening and transfer back to the hotel, with time to rest and prepare for your flight to Phuket the following day.
Day 5: Bangkok to Phuket | Arrival & Beachside Leisure
After breakfast, check out of your hotel in Bangkok and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Phuket. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your seaside hotel, where the pace naturally slows, and the island atmosphere sets in. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind — relax by the pool, stroll along the beach, or simply enjoy the ocean air after travel. This afternoon and evening are intentionally unstructured, allowing everyone to ease into Phuket and enjoy the coastal setting at their own rhythm.
Day 6: Ethical Elephant Care Experience
After breakfast, depart for an ethical elephant sanctuary in Phuket for a meaningful half-day experience focused on care, respect, and conservation. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by knowledgeable local guides who will introduce the sanctuary’s approach to ethical eco-tourism and elephant welfare.
During the visit, you’ll take part in hands-on activities such as preparing food, feeding the elephants, and observing them as they bathe and cool off in their natural environment. The experience concludes with a relaxed Thai-style lunch before returning to your hotel, leaving the afternoon free to rest or enjoy the beach.
Day 7: Luxury Beach Club Day in Phuket
Today is all about rest, ease, and soaking in the coastal beauty of Phuket. After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed day at one of Phuket’s premier beach clubs, set along the shoreline and designed for comfort and leisure. Guests can unwind on shared loungers or cabanas, enjoy attentive service, and savor food and drinks throughout the day while taking in ocean views and a laid-back beachside atmosphere. This day is intentionally unstructured, offering space to slow down, connect, and fully enjoy the rhythm of island life before the journey winds down.
Day 8: Free Day in Paradise
Enjoy a leisurely day in Phuket, giving you time to soak in the island at your own pace. Spend the morning unwinding on one of Phuket’s beautiful beaches, exploring the colorful streets of Old Phuket Town, or treating yourself to a traditional Thai massage. As the day winds down, we’ll come together for a scenic farewell dinner — a final evening to share stories, reflect on the experience, and celebrate the connections made before heading home.
Day 9: Farewell
All great things must come to an end, but only until our next LNT experience. You will be transferred to Phuket International Airport (HKT) Airport, where you’ll bid your “safe travels” to your new Ember & Co. friends and “goodbye” to Thailand!

A Yearly Tradition I'm Proud to Keep:
This is my second trip with LuxNomad Travels, and I’ve already booked my third for next year. If I can manage it, I’ll be a yearly repeat client—that’s how much these experiences mean to me. Thank you for showing me the other side of the globe in such a beautiful way. I love being far from home but feeling the safety of the group. I appreciate having plans laid out while still having the freedom to choose my own pace. I’m so proud of you for betting on yourself and creating this company. Keep giving others this opportunity to travel—it’s truly special.

A Cultural Immersion with Heart
This trip was a cultural powerhouse. Every experience immersed me deeply in Thai culture and history in ways I never expected. Our host was phenomenal—she made sure everyone felt seen and cared for throughout the entire journey. And as a bonus, my roommate pairing was absolutely perfect. We were so similar that the whole trip felt like going on an adventure with your favorite cousin. It was everything I hoped for and more.

Pushed Beyond My Comfort Zone in the Best Way
I was so looking forward to visiting Thailand, and Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, and Phuket exceeded every expectation. This was my second trip with LuxNomad Travels, and Antoinette was once again an excellent host. I really appreciated the pre-trip emails that prepared us for what to expect—they made everything feel manageable. The food was incredible, especially the meals on the dinner cruise and at our farewell event. The itinerary struck the perfect balance: amazing activities that pushed me out of my comfort zone, plus two wonderful days to explore at our own pace. Our tour guide was fantastic, and the people I met made every moment truly special. Great trip!

What’s the pace of the trip?
We want to ensure every guest has a memorable and safe experience during our Thailand trip. The journey is moderately active, with participants needing to be comfortable walking up to 5 miles per day, including outdoor steps and uneven surfaces. Most days are relaxed, but there are one or more active days, such as our adventure and water activity day, which require additional physical engagement. Comfortable footwear is recommended.
While we offer a range of activities and excursions, participation is optional. Please note that non-participation in certain activities, particularly water sports or special arrangements, does not warrant a refund. We encourage guests to participate according to their comfort level and physical condition. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities, and we appreciate your understanding.
What accommodations are included?
We stay in carefully selected 5-star hotels throughout our time in Bangkok and Phuket, chosen for comfort, location, service, and overall experience. All accommodations are arranged by Ember & Co. and confirmed upon booking.
Room Types & Bed Configuration
Please note that outside of the United States, double occupancy rooms typically consist of two twin beds, not one shared bed.
Occupancy Options
- Double Occupancy: Two guests per room, typically with twin beds or one bed for couples upon request
- Single Occupancy: One guest per room (single supplement applies)
Solo travelers choosing double occupancy will be paired based on preferences. If a suitable match is not available 90 days prior to departure, the single occupancy supplement will apply. Traveling with a friend? Please note this during registration so we can room you together.
Male Travelers
We welcome both men and women on our trips. Due to the typical guest makeup, groups often have a higher ratio of female travelers. For this reason, solo male travelers are required to book single occupancy to ensure comfort for all guests. Male travelers joining with a friend are welcome to select double occupancy.
How is transport arranged?
Private transportation is included throughout the trip to ensure smooth, comfortable travel between all experiences. This also includes a domestic flight from Bangkok to Phuket, with 20 kg checked luggage and 7 kg carry-on per guest. Any additional baggage beyond this allowance will be the responsibility of the traveler and payable directly to the airline.
What meals are included?
Your culinary journey in Thailand is a central part of your experience, and we’re thrilled to include the majority of your meals (9 breakfasts, 4 lunches, and 2 dinners) along with water. To ensure everyone’s preferences are respected, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are not included in our meal offerings and are considered the responsibility of each guest. This approach allows us to cater to a diverse range of tastes and ensures that your Thailand trip is as inclusive and enjoyable as possible.
What travel documents or visas are required?
Passport
Guests are required to hold a passport for all international trips with at least six months of validity from the last day of the trip. The airlines may deny travel, and the passport officials may refuse entry if you try to travel with a passport that expires in under six months. Ember & Co. will make every effort to verify passport validity; however, this is the responsibility of the guest.
Visa & Entry Documents
For U.S. citizens traveling to Thailand, entry is generally straightforward. All foreign visitors are required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within three days prior to arrival. U.S. passport holders are eligible for a visa-exempt stay of up to 30 days for tourism, with the option to extend to 60 days if needed. Upon arrival, immigration officials may ask for proof of onward travel showing a confirmed flight out of Thailand, as well as proof of funds. This typically means demonstrating access to at least 10,000 THB per person (or 20,000 THB per family), and in some cases, proof of accommodation for the duration of your stay. While not always requested, it’s important to have these documents readily available to ensure a smooth entry experience.
COVID-19 Test & Vaccinations
Currently, this country does not require negative COVID-19 test results or vaccination proof to enter. We advise all our guests to consult with their healthcare provider for any additional vaccination requirements that are specific to their individual health and medical history. Your well-being is our priority, and these precautions will help ensure a safe and healthy journey.
Is travel insurance required?
Travel insurance is not included, but we strongly recommend it, particularly “cancel for any reason” coverage. This helps protect against unexpected medical or family emergencies and allows recovery of non-refundable trip expenses. We partner with Faye Travel Insurance to provide our guests with trusted options and guidance for securing the coverage that best fits your needs.
What airports should I fly into?
International airfare is not included in this trip. All guests will arrange their own flights into Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) in Bangkok, Thailand, and depart from Phuket International Airport (HKT) in Phuket, Thailand. We kindly ask that you hold off on booking flights until our team shares the official travel window. Recommended arrival and departure times, along with transfer details, will be provided after booking confirmation.
Are there pre-trip meetings or resources?
Yes! Guests will receive pre-trip emails and a virtual meeting to help you prepare, answer questions, and ensure you feel confident and ready for your journey.
How do trip payments work?
Each trip offers a unique payment option. You can choose to pay for your trip in full, secure your spot with a down payment, then set up a monthly plan. Monthly payments will be automatically drafted every 30 days from the date of your registration until the trip is fully paid.
What is the refund and cancellation policy?
Guests have 24 hours from booking to cancel for a full refund. After that, deposits are non-refundable. For complete details, including special promotions and exceptions, please review our Group Trips Terms & Booking Conditions. We also recommend travel insurance for added protection.
Are tips included?
Tips are not included in your trip price. We recommend budgeting around $100–$150 USD for local staff and service teams who help make your experience seamless and memorable. Your trip host will collect tips at the end of the journey to ensure proper distribution. PLEASE NOTE: our trips are designed with a focus on respect and gratitude for the people who make your experience possible. If tipping or showing appreciation for service is a concern, this may not be the right experience for you.
What if I have special needs or mobility concerns?
This trip involves walking several miles on some days, uneven terrain, desert activities, and long drives, so it’s important to review the full itinerary carefully to determine if you are physically able to participate. At this time, we are not equipped to provide hands-on support for guests with special medical or mobility needs.
Please note that medical facilities abroad may not meet the same standards as those in your home country, and travel in remote areas may involve risk of injury, sickness, or other dangers. We encourage all guests to assess their health and fitness in advance and secure appropriate travel insurance.
