Every detail is curated with care, from the places we stay to the people you meet along the way. Our trips center around culture, connection, and presence, helping travelers feel rooted in the moment rather than rushed through it. We’re not about box-checking itineraries; we’re about crafting moments that linger long after you return home.

You don’t have to be a seasoned traveler; you just need an open heart and a sense of curiosity. No. While our group trips are at the core of what we do, we also create bespoke travel experiences for individuals, families, and teams who prefer something more private. Our approach stays the same: intentional, thoughtful, and rooted in connection, just tailored to fit your pace, preferences, and purpose.

Most Ember & Co. group experiences welcome 5–12 travelers, keeping things intimate and personal. We’ve found that smaller groups allow for deeper connection, both with each other and with the culture we’re exploring. Occasionally, we’ll host slightly larger groups for special collaborations or high-demand destinations, but our focus will always be on quality over quantity.

Absolutely — and many of our travelers do. Each destination offers a unique rhythm and theme, so every experience feels new while still carrying that same Ember touch. Many guests return because of the community that forms during our trips. It’s not just travel, it’s belonging.

Booking & Payments

Start by exploring the trip page that catches your eye — review the itinerary, inclusions, and real guest reviews to make sure it feels like the right fit for you. Once you’re ready, click ‘Join Trip’, and you’ll be directed to the secure booking page to confirm your spot. We always recommend reading the full trip details before booking to ensure you’re physically and comfortably able to join the planned activities.

Deposit amounts vary by destination since each trip has a different total cost. Typically, it’s 20–25% down (around $499 for double occupancy or $599 for single occupancy). We also offer Early Bird Launch Deposits — sometimes as low as $99 or half off during special promotions. To stay in the loop about early access and launch offers, join our newsletter here.

Yes. You can either pay in full or set up a monthly payment plan after your deposit. Payment plans are flexible, and your next payment will be due 30 days from your booking date and continue on a 30-day rolling schedule until your trip is fully paid.

All final payments are due 45 days before your trip’s departure date. You’ll receive friendly reminders along the way so you never miss a deadline.

Yes — in most cases, transfers are allowed. Each trip type has its own process and timelines for changes or transfers. For full details, please see our Group Booking Terms or Bespoke Booking Terms.

We understand that plans can change. Here’s how our moderate flexible cancellation policy works: Within 24 hours of booking, a full refund (except for promo bookings). 200+ days before departure: 50% of your payment is non-refundable. 0–199 days before departure: 100% non-refundable. If we ever have to cancel, you’ll receive at least 60 days’ notice and a full refund minus processing fees. If an unforeseen situation requires us to change dates and you’re unable to travel on the new ones, we’ll issue you a credit toward a future trip of your choice. We recommend waiting for our confirmation email before booking your flights.

While it’s not required, we highly recommend it. Unexpected things happen — illnesses, emergencies, or trip interruptions — and insurance protects your investment. We’ve partnered with Faye Travel Insurance to make it simple for travelers to get coverage that includes not just trip protection but also medical coverage abroad, which many home policies don’t include.

Roommate Match & Accommodations

Absolutely! You’re welcome to join solo and have your own room or be paired with another guest. We host a mix of solo travelers and friends traveling together—everyone’s welcome.

Yes. During checkout, simply select “single occupancy” if it’s available. These rooms are limited, so we recommend booking early to secure one.
After booking, you’ll receive a Welcome Packet with a short roommate preference form. We use your responses to match you thoughtfully based on personality, travel style, and preferences, so you can feel comfortable and at ease.
Accommodations vary by destination, but we only select stays rated 4 stars or higher. Each property is chosen for its comfort, location, and overall atmosphere to complement the feel of the trip, so you can relax knowing you’re in good hands.
Exact accommodations are provided once your trip is fully confirmed. Details, including hotel names and room types, will be shared in your Welcome Packet.

Before You Travel

Once you’re booked, we’ll send you a Welcome Packet and follow up with pre-departure emails designed to help you feel ready and confident. These include packing tips, destination insights, information on currency, food, tipping, and more. We also host two virtual pre-trip meetings to answer questions and connect as a group before departure.

You’ll receive your personalized Welcome Packet shortly after booking (and after completing your registration form).. It includes important trip details, your roommate preference form (if applicable), and next steps leading up to your experience.

Absolutely. During the registration process, we collect all the necessary information to make sure you’re supported throughout your trip. We do encourage keeping an open mind as every country has its own rhythm, flavors, and ways of living, and tasting local cuisine is a big part of the Ember & Co. experience.

We’ll send flight guidance and details once your trip is officially confirmed and booked. Please hold off on purchasing flights until you receive our “Go Ahead” email with final instructions.
Yes! We host two pre-trip virtual meetings where you’ll get to meet your fellow travelers, ask questions, and get a feel for what’s ahead.

Each country is unique, and we’ll guide you through everything you need to know in your pre-departure emails and group sessions. You’ll receive cultural notes, etiquette tips, and local insights specific to your destination to help you feel at ease and connected once you arrive.

During the Experience

Each trip has its own rhythm and personality. Some — like Bali — blend culture, adventure, and rest, while others — like Japan — are fast-paced and full of daily experiences. No two destinations are the same, but all of our trips include at least one free day to explore at your own pace. We believe in giving you time to wander, connect with locals, and experience life as a true global citizen — not just a visitor passing through. Your trip host will be there from start to finish to help you feel supported, connected, and completely present throughout your journey.

Yes! Transportation is included for all activity days, as well as airport transfers on your arrival and departure days. Breakfast is provided daily, and select lunches and dinners are included to give you the perfect balance of group dining and personal freedom. Every activity listed in your itinerary is included in your trip price. Each trip page outlines what’s included (and what’s not), so it’s always best to review that section in full before booking.

This varies by destination, but every Ember & Co. trip includes at least one free day for you to explore, rest, or do your own thing. Some trips even include flexible afternoons built right into the schedule so you can move at your own pace. For the most accurate details, check your trip’s full itinerary.
We know unexpected things can happen while traveling. Your host will be there to assist, offer guidance, and help connect you with the appropriate medical or on-ground support if needed. We’ll ensure you have the resources and help you need to get the right care quickly. We also strongly recommend travel insurance for this reason — it’s peace of mind that goes a long way.

Yes — you’ll be supported every step of the way. Your Ember & Co host will be with you from arrival to departure, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Our local partners are also on the ground to assist with logistics, language, or anything unexpected that comes up. You’ll also be part of a private WhatsApp group where updates are shared and support is always just a message away.
You’re not alone — most of our guests join solo! Our groups attract kind, curious, and like-minded travelers who are open to connection and community. We create space for everyone to feel seen and comfortable at their own pace. Many of our guests walk away with lifelong friends — it’s one of the best parts of what we do.

While we welcome guests ages 21 and older, most of our travelers fall between 30 and 60 years old. We tend to attract a thoughtful, mature community of travelers who appreciate meaningful experiences, shared moments, and genuine connection over nightlife or fast-paced itineraries.

Not at all — we’re not a “turn-up” community, but we do enjoy having a good time. Think cozy lounges, a glass of wine over dinner, or a late-night game of spades with new friends. Our trips create space for laughter, connection, and genuine joy — without the chaos of a nightlife-focused group. You’ll always have free time and evenings to explore or unwind however you like.

Bespoke & Custom Experiences

Group trips are pre-planned, shared experiences with other travelers. Bespoke trips are 100% tailored to you — your dates, interests, budget, and travel style. You can go solo, as a couple, or with your own small group.

Absolutely. No one is excluded. Unlike our group trips (which are 21+), bespoke experiences are open to travelers of all ages and group types — families, couples, or solo adventurers who just want a little extra care and customization.
As much or as little as you want. Everything is designed around your preferences: from flights and hotels to daily experiences, dining, and downtime. We’ll always build within your comfort zone and budget, so it feels like your dream trip, not just another itinerary.

You’ll start by completing our Bespoke Curation Form and paying the curation fee. The form helps us understand your vision, budget, and priorities. Once submitted, our team will review it and respond within 72 business hours. From there, we begin planning your trip. Within 14 days (rush service available), you’ll receive a rough draft of your itinerary and estimated costs. This is when collaboration begins — we’ll refine every detail together until it’s perfect. Once you confirm, a 25% deposit secures your trip, and monthly payments can be arranged if needed.
